Message from the Board

Dear Friends of Fair Hills,

As a non-profit, faith based community we are proud to have devoted 60+ years to creating a Christian, home-like atmosphere offering housing and personalized senior living resources at an exceptional value. We have an active and engaged volunteer Board of Directors and as President of the Board of Directors, I can assure you that the Illinois Presbyterian Home is committed to providing quality healthcare and living accommodations seniors. In fact, my mother lived here for almost three years!

The communities of the Illinois Presbyterian Home include; Fair Hills Residence, Fair Hills Retirement Apartments (Springfield, IL) and De Castro Retirement Apartments (Jacksonville, IL). You will find our main property nestled on the top of the hill in the heart of Springfield- close to shopping, medical offices, banks, and recreation, and our beautiful 26-acre tree-lined campus offers a peaceful retreat like place to call home.

We rely on our residents' families and our community to assist our staff in meeting the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of seniors. We need volunteers on all levels from leadership (Our Board members come from the congregations of The Presbytery of Great Rivers and The Presbytery of Southeastern Illinois) to sharing a few hours performing a special skill, to assisting us in offering resident special events and outings. Your referrals of those considering making a senior housing transition are always appreciated. And, we simply could not continue to offer the amenities and our well maintained properties without your generous financial support.

Working together, we can all help offer peace of mind in the selection of senior care options for perhaps yourself, or someone you pray for and care about, in the communities of the Illinois Presbyterian Home.

Please contact myself or Ms. Kathleen Cross, our Executive Director to schedule a tour. And, when you are visiting I also want to extend an invitation for you to dine with us. Our meals are all served family-style, offering a time of fellowship for and with our residents.

Mike Orr, Board President
